AdvantageWest CEC Program to be Presented to Congress
Asheville Regional Airport, N.C.—The AdvantageWest Certified Entrepreneurial CommunitySM program will be presented to Congress on November 14, 2007 during a hearing conducted by the US House Subcommittee on Urban and Rural Entrepreneurship. AdvantageWest CEO Dale Carroll will testify before the congressional committee at the invitation of Representative Nydia M. Velazquez of New York, Chairwoman of the US House Committee on Small Business and Congressman Heath Shuler. The Eastern Band of the Cherokee Indian and twelve counties in the AdvantageWest region are currently pursuing the Certified Entrepreneurial CommunitySM designation. AdvantageWest is the first region in the country to initiate a rigorous certification method to make communities entrepreneur-ready, while also improving the business climate for sustaining existing companies.
