New E-Newsletter Targets Travelers to Blue Ridge National Heritage Area
Date Posted: 1/24/2007
The Blue Ridge Explorer, an enewsletter for travelers interested in visiting the Blue Ridge National Heritage Area’s many cultural and natural attractions, is now available online at www.blueridgeheritage.com
Designed to serve travelers from outside the region as well as to be a resource for WNC residents who are interested in getting to know the region better, the Blue Ridge Explorer will feature monthly articles with information about seasonal activities, specific events, and stories about the history, heritage, and culture of the North Carolina mountains.
“Our stories will be more about the people, the natural environment, and those things such as the music, crafts, and ethnicity that make this area so appealing, rather than being another resource for travel reservations and arrangements,” said Penn Dameron, Executive Director of the BRNHA. “We want to give travelers a feel for the unique personality of the area.” Links will be provided to other websites that will allow readers to access information about specific attractions, lodging, restaurants, and more.
The Blue Ridge National Heritage Area’s website and traveler e-newsletter have received support from the Golden LEAF Foundation.
